Are Boys at Increased Risk of Heart Inflammation after Vaccine?
Research is Still in Preliminary Stages
The research is non-peer reviewed and as a result, not a reputable source
The research was conducted using VAERS which is Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. The VAERS system detects possible safety issues in vaccines since 1990. The issue with this method of research is that VAERS can report missing, incorrect, or unidentified information.
They searched words in the system correlated to heart conditions and heart diseases. Using this information, they HYPOTHESIZED a diagnosis of cardiac adverse events or (CAE) which is a vague term for many different heart-related problems. They identified rates of CAE based on sex, age, and vaccination dose number.
The study identified 257 CAEs (in cases per million after the second dose) and there were 162 in boys that were 12-15, 94 in boys 16-17 years old, and significantly less for girls in the same age groups.
The study also said that the rate of CAE was between 3.7 to 6.1 times higher for boys aged 12-15 than the risk of a Covid-19 hospitalization risk in a 120 day period and 2.1-3.5 times higher in boys aged 16-17.
Overall, the data is worrisome but it may not be accurate. Until the peer-reviewed studies come out, we can just hold our breath and wait.
